The OTTOFLEX® Tanking Kit provides a complete, professional-grade waterproofing solution for tanking applications. This comprehensive, all-in-one package includes everything needed to completely seal moisture-sensitive substrates before applying tile.
Ideal for bathrooms, wet rooms, and below-ground installations where reliable water resistance is essential, this German-engineered system ensures a flawless, impermeable foundation. It is fully compatible with commercially available cementitious tile adhesives and silicone sealants.

Pro Tip: 90% of leaks happen at joints and transitions. Never just paint the membrane into a 90-degree corner! Bed the supplied 10m sealing tape into your first coat of the liquid membrane while it’s still wet, then paint over the edges to create a flexible, watertight bridge. Always apply the liquid rubber in two generous coats to achieve the required 0.5mm minimum dry thickness.
What's Included in the Kit?
- 1x OTTOFLEX® Primer (1kg): For surface preparation. A solvent-free synthetic resin dispersion that equalizes absorbent substrates (plasterboard, screed, concrete). Dries to a milky blue finish in approx. 2 hours.
- 1x OTTOFLEX® Protective Coating (7kg): For durable moisture barrier protection. A highly elastic, crack-bridging liquid rubber membrane. Rapid drying time of 2 to 3 hours, offering approx. 6m² of total coverage.
- 1x OTTOFLEX® Sealing Tape (10m): For joint reinforcement. An extremely flexible, tear-resistant fleece-backed tape essential for bridging internal/external corners, wall-to-floor transitions, and pipe entries.
Key Features & Trade Compliance
- System Tested: Completely compatible with all standard cementitious tile adhesives and OTTOSEAL silicone sealants.
- Water Action Categories: Complies with W0-I, W1-I, and W2-I (tear class R1-I) in accordance with DIN 18534. Suitable for stress categories W1, W2, W3, and W4 (ÖNORM B 3407).
- Moisture Resistance: Meets the strict commercial requirements for class A0 (ZDB) and class A (abP).
- Fire Safety: Complies with building material class B2 "normally inflammable" in accordance with DIN 4102-1.
- Eco & Air Quality: EMICODE® EC 1 Plus (Very low emission) and French VOC-emission class A+.
- Safe & Solvent-Free: Plasticiser-free and strictly compliant with GISCODE BSW10, making it entirely safe for use in confined, unventilated bathroom spaces.
